Etwa 25 Kilometer von der Hauptstadt Cadiz entfernt.<br \/>Gegr\u00fcndet 1303, als K\u00f6nig Ferdinand IV. von Kastilien dem Haus Medina-Sidonia das Land Chiclanera \u00fcbergab. Das Stadtzentrum wurde im Laufe des 18. Jahrhunderts erbaut. Im spanischen Unabh\u00e4ngigkeitskrieg fand die Schlacht von Chiclana zwischen Frankreich und englisch-spanischen Verb\u00fcndeten statt. Heute basiert die wirtschaftliche Aktivit\u00e4t von Chiclana auf der modernen Industrie und vor allem auf dem Tourismus, insbesondere auf den Str\u00e4nden und Golfpl\u00e4tzen, die El Novo Sancti Petri durchqueren. Novo Sancti Petri ist die Urbanisation, die die meisten Hotels in der gesamten Provinz Cadiz und an der gesamten Costa de la Luz
